A Once in a Lifetime Experience
We booked our fishing excursion at the last minute from our cruise. Arrangement and payment were easy, and the fishing trip itself was fabulous. Very nice, clean boat, and Captain Mike was friendly, skilled, and helpful with fishermen of all ages and skills. Every member of our party caught at least one halibut, and Mike helped arrange the shipment of our keepers back home. Sincere thanks for a great day on the water!
Booked Captain Mike online for our four-hour salmon fishing trip. Paid online with PayPal. No problems. He met us right at the dock when he said he was going to. Nice young guy, his boat was immaculate, and most importantly- he seemed to know just where the fish would be. I was worried that we hadn’t booked first thing in the morning, but he said that high tide was actually the best time to go. So glad we booked with him. My husband, my 12 year old daughter, and I caught the limit- 18 salmon- before we had to return to the ship. It was so amazing. He helped us out and we took turns reeling them in. Afterwards he helped us arrange to have our fish smoked and sent home. Highly recommend. This was a major highlight of our trip.
We were in Ketchikan as part of a cruise to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and I arranged all of the shore excursions for our family of 17 which included 9 children! Captain Mike was very enthusiastic from my first phone call to him on through to my family on their outing. Unfortunately it was not a good day for halibut and our group had to practice some patience but it was still a good experience to see exactly how this type of deep sea fishing is done. They were rewarded when they tried salmon fishing during the second half of their outing which was very exciting for them! I cannot recommend this experience high enough if you will be visiting Alaska….it is a REAL experience, not some choreographed tour made up especially for cruise ship passengers which is something you will run into in Alaska or in any ship port. Fishing is the real deal and the thrill will not be long forgotten! We are still enjoying the 30 pounds of salmon that we had shipped home from our two fishing groups.
